The University of Birmingham

In May 2018, Triflex were approached by The University of Birmingham who required a rapid and easy waterproofing solution for one of the Halls within the campus. The university outlined that if a solution was to be provided it must have almost zero disruption to their students’ day.

The balcony and walkway waterproofing system at the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus had reached the end of its serviceable life. Both the appearance and practicality of using it lacked the high quality the hotel strives to provide. Thanks to Triflex waterproofing and surfacing systems the balconies and walkways have been restored to their former glory.

Triflex were contacted by the Borough of Poole to provide a project specification for the renovation of the internal car park decks and connecting ramps at the Dolphin Shopping Centre car park in Poole, Dorset.

Withdean Close

Triflex were contacted by a homeowner who had been suffering from water ingress that had stopped them from utilising their terrace. Due to the constant dampness of the terrace, algae and moss had developed over the winter months, making the areas very slippery.

The old bus depot

After completing surveys to the top floor walkways of an apartment block in Lancaster, results revealed that no waterproofing had been installed when the building had been refurbished from its original state as a bus depot. This had caused water ingress to the below apartments, which if left unresolved could cause detrimental damage to residents homes.

Rainham School for Girls case study

The 1,576m² flat roof to the main school building featured a felt and asphalt waterproofing system that was beginning to allow water to ingress. If allowed to continue the water could potentially cause structural damage to the building and pose a health and safety risk to the school, the pupils and staff.

This multi-storey car park required a waterproofing and surfacing solution for all 3 levels of the Olympia car park. Areas of the car park revealed very deep wheel indentations, with 80mm of asphalt at the sides and as little as 15mm in the middle.
